This past holiday weekend, I got to spend a some time out in the garage with my dye pots and lots of fiber! Here is some of my handiwork:

Silks dyed in an orang, blue-green, navy and gold

Orange Mohair
Frannie’s Fleece from Homestead Wool and Gift Farm - dyed a blue green ( also dyed in navy, gold, and orange…

One of my favorites was done as a last minute “oh let’s see what happens”…I thought the brown was too dark to overdye but it came out beautiful…too bad I only dyed an ounce of it! The pic doesn’t do it good enough justice as it is a wonderful heathered orange.  (The fiber it is sitting on is was a brown and white jacob roving that I overdyed - I happily dyed 4 ounces of that as it came out beautiful too!):

These photos and a bunch more pics can be seen in my flickr set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thedyeingspinster/sets/72157605293184631/

When all was said and done, I managed to dye over three pounds of wool in 4 colors.  A good  start, I would say. =) These fibers are going to be used to make beautiful multicolored and heathered batts for spinning and felting. I am going to wait until I have a good number of completed batts before I stock the store.  But I will be blogging my progress here, so stay tuned! =)
